Since 1998, Brat has been a major player and contributor to the electronic music scene in Western Canada, both as a promoter and DJ and producer with local and international experience. His unique brand of banging funky house has helped him stamp his mark on appreciative audiences and partygoers alike over the past 10 years. In addition to his taste in exceptional funky house, Brat`s status as crowd favorite over the years stems from a long lasting reputation of having a high energy, floor filling stage presence.
His infamous residencies over the years include high profile nights including: Club Magnum 357 (Kamloops, BC), The Drink (Vancouver, BC), GLC (Whistler, BC), G Stylings (Prince George, BC) & Apex Project (Chiliwack, BC) to name a few. Associations with long standing production companies s uch as Twisted, Teamhardcore, and ET Bros has ensured that his presence in key locations such as Vancouver is maintained. Unlike many DJs, Brat is known for immediately connecting with his crowd during his sets from start to finish, inevitably creating the incredible fun atmosphere that is a Brat show.
Over the years, the Brat name has also met and conquered inter-province and international scenes, covering locations such as Eugene, Portland and Calgary, Alberta. The other half of the Brat machine is of course his capabilities and experience as a prolific event promoter, with 35 shows under his belt to date. Tales of massive shows including "Shake It", "Shake It Again", "Tables for Two", and the 3 day Utopia festival are still common amongst party people across western Canada. Its easy to see why Brat has become such a popular entity in this part of the world, with successful events and legendary DJ performances backing him up all the way. As well as being a respected leader as both a DJ and producer for some time now, Brat has also featured in some major event lineups. Included in his 300 + shows to date, Brat has played alongside and toured with huge names such as Tony Faline (FL), DJ Czech (Vancouver),De Koze (Toronto), Dig Dug (Seattle), DJ Antoine (Switzerland), DJ Spice (FL), and Big League Chu (Toronto).

Some of the things I've done, which I'm proud of, despite how corny it may be to say that... I was flown to Mexico to play at a clubnight, I've played numerous raves around the British Columbia interior, I was a monthly resident at Believe, one of Vancouver's premiere electronic music clubnights, I've released a record (speedgarage).
Jon Treichel is a guitar playing and beat zappin' freak from
beyond the edge of the cheap seats. Funky by nature and
freaky by any means necessary. Has been photographed
performing acts of savage funkery. Must be heard to be
believed. Causes uncontrollable dance urges in large rooms.
Was funky when funky wasn't cool. Fought the funk and
the funk won. Did it all for funk. Has his own keys to the house
that funk built. Is on a first name basis with the funk.
Is considering going in on a time-share in Mexico with the funk.
If he ever had business cards printed they would just say
"Funky." Once was blind and was made to see again by the
healing power of the funk. Was voted most likely to funk.
Has been taken to funky town.
